Remember the video from the last session with Brother Francis? Do you remember the part where the grape cut himself off from the vine? Jesus told that story to us to remind us that He is our LIFE. The Eucharist - Holy Communion is the sap that feeds us so we (the branches) can make lots of fruit! (Good deeds)
Lets pray by singing - make the sign of the cross and then watch this video:
Do you know what it means to follow in someone’s footsteps? It means that there are qualities (good things) about that person that you admire and you try to be like them by doing good things too.
As Christian Catholics we are called to follow in Jesus' footsteps, to be like him in loving God above all and love everyone we meet the way we would want to be loved.
In the Brother Francis video that you watched, there was a story of Blessed Imelda. There are many people who followed in the footsteps of Jesus in an extraordinary way. We call these people Saints.
Click the image to print off 4 bookmarks and read about 4 different patron Saints of Holy Communion. A patron saint is a fancy way of saying a "helper" or "personal-friend" saint.
Which Saint do YOU want to take as your personal patron? You can pray to them each day to be your heavenly friend who will help you to love Jesus more each day.

The church is your home! When you come to church, we want you to know that you and your family are welcome here. This is your parish home! You are not a guest or a visitor, you are a part of our family!
Please watch this video with your child as we take a tour with Fr. Patrick of Good Shepherd Parish.
This video is available on the Good Shepherd Parish Lakeshore YouTube channel in the playlist "First Communion".
Can you remember what Fr. Patrick showed us in the tour of the church? Do you remember what these iteams are? Do you remember what they are used for?
Hint: Make this review fun and see who can remember first, your child vs you (or an older sibling).

Colour your missal and bring it with you next time you come to Mass.
Our Father, who are in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those
who trespass against us,
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.
Hail Mary, full of grace
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed are you
among women,
And blessed is the fruit
of your womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God
Pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
Glory to the Father
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit;
As it was in the beginning,
is now and will be forever.
Amen.
My Jesus,
I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things,
and I welcome You into my soul.
Stay close with me always,
so I may follow you forever.
AMEN.
